Philosophical model

There has been a big gap since my last posting. I ended up travelling back to the US, this time along with my family. So was busy in the move and settling down process. During this time, I also had the unfortunate situation of following the Tiruvali bramhotsavam remotely for the first time. My family (lucky) folks were in attendence and my son became my proxy so to speak at the temple.

The good news is that all the things that I have been doing with "once in a while" visits to Tiruvali (temple, farming and so on) will continue with my remote review and hopefully once a year visit. Fortunately, I was able to make the necessary arrangements for logistics and oversight.

I was very busy with the usual settling down complications in the US. Bank account, apartment, phone, internet, Driving license, Car and so on in the midst of work related travel within US. Two or three episodes captured my attention which as usual I tried to relate to Philosophy.

(1) The Ongoing debate in the US on Immigration (triggered in no small part by the new law in Arizona)
(2) The Ongoing debate on a planned mosque near the WTC site
(3) A suit filed by department of justice against an apartment management for discrimination against browns and blacks (latino, Black, Chinese, Indians and so on)

So how are the above ;points related to Philosophy? Of course, I am going to try stretching things a little bit to relate them. The bottom line as I see in all these cases is the need to be inclusive for things that are seemingly outside the framework of reference. If we think the above are serious issues with very strong opinions on both sides, imagine the situation in Philosophy where we have got to reconcile everything in the known and unknown universe (whether it is life or otherwise).

So I started thinking (experts and students of philosphy both traditional and comparative, please excuse my amateurish attempts) about a philosphical model that can be used to explain "everything".

(1) Provide a framework of definition for everything in the universe using basic building blocks (whatever that may be)
(2) Provide a framework defining the reason for their existence as they are
(3) Provide a framework defining a logical life cycle for everything in the Universe (The lifecycle need not have a start and end at this point of time)
(4) Provide a framework for defining why and how everything exists while in parallel explaining every potential event or action however small they can be
(5) Provide a framework for defining if and how everything is interrelated. This needs to more than just physics in terms of interactions of objects etc.

The assumption for the above is as follows:

(1) There is no concept of aliens (legal or illegal :-)) as everything is IN.
(2) Due to (1), everything has a basis and are potentially interrelated. The actual relationship can be symbiotic, parasitic and so on which we will worry about later. At the least the environment(and so the resources) is common so there has to be an interaction.
(3) If (1) and (2) are valid, how are conflicts resolved?
(4) If conflicts are to be resolved, we need an authority.

Before going further, if everything is IN, then how can the authority discriminate? I will leave this post with that thought.

  1. Do philosophy and logic go hand in hand?

  2. :-) I can only say that to go beyond that needs a divine push.
