Now that theoretical framework is defined, let us see how practical observation (one philosophy) adheres to it. This is similar to physics where the observations support the theory and if it does not, the theory needs work!
(1) Provide a framework of definition for everything in the universe using basic building blocks (whatever that may be)
The Thathvathrayam provides this from Sri Vaishnava framework. As per this, there are only three things in the universe (known and unknown). Chit (sentient), Achit (non Sentient) and Easwara (the authority). This is obvious to followers of Sri Vaishnavism. However from the practical discussion that has been happening, this is excellent. Due to this level of definition based on knowledge or the lack of it, it includes everything and excludes nothing.
(2) Provide a framework defining the reason for their existence as they are
There are two aspects to their existence.
(a) In their primordial form, they have to exist as they are! They are the body of Easwara and so were neither created nor will ever be destroyed
(b) In their existential form, they exist in their form because of their Karma.
(3) Provide a framework defining a logical life cycle for everything in the Universe (The lifecycle need not have a start and end at this point of time)
The lifecycle for eveything is defined by the Karmic life cycle. That is till their Karma is exhausted, everything is born and die again and again. (dying is not a permanent death as they always exist in the primordial form)
(4) Provide a framework for defining why and how everything exists while in parallel explaining every potential event or action however small they can be
The key issue is defining every small action or event that happens. Karma explains every action that happens and every event that occurs.
(5) Provide a framework for defining if and how everything is interrelated. This needs to more than just physics in terms of interactions of objects etc.
Everything is interrelated as they are part of the primordial form of Easwara. In their existential form, due to their Karma and obscuring of knowledge they dont realize their interrelationship and this becomes the cause of conflicts.
Easwara is the conflict resolver and the primary mode of resolution is the effect of Karma. When it becomes too skewed for the normal Karma cycle to provide balance, he gets involved and sets the corrective course. (Sambhavami Yuge Yuge)
The biggest appeal in this model is that no one is left out. Unlike other models where an exclusive set is preferred one and the rest are cast away, everything is included and have the same rights.
One question that has often baffled me in religion is that, everyone wants you to worship a particular version of a personal god or just god. While that is understandable, it is difficult to believe that an all powerful god is powerless to prevent other gods and if other gods exist(obviously by the sheet multitude followed in the world), how are they included in the model.
Srivaishnava model accounts for this too! Here the take is that, other gods are also his effort to attract his children depending upon their preferences and tastes ( அவரவர் தமதமது அறிவறிவு வகைவகை ) and thru them he takes his time to make them realize the reality.
(b)In their existential form, they exist in their form because of their Karma.
ReplyDeleteI have to ponder over this. My knowledge is limited to approve this. Perhaps Narasimhan (Sekar) or Usha shud contribute proper input to this.
Clearly I may be out my depth here. My belief (I cannot call it knowledge) is that Karma is the basis of this existence (may be except in rare cases where Perumal wants special atmas like Azhwars/Acharyas to stay for the welfare of the larger world).
