It had been just short of two years since I had returned from the US. I had moved to my new house and settled in. I also got the itch that many had, of investing a small portion of the money earned, in a village, preferably a temple town/Divyadesam.
I was talking about this regularly with my brother in law. One day he called me and said that one of his acquaintances was offering to take us to his village and show us a couple of plots in the sannidhi street and it was a divyadesam.
Out of curiosity and anticipation, we planned a visit in Nov 2002. We took the train to Sirkazhi and the train reached in the early morning. The light was coming out slowly. We took a car through the town and started talking a small winding road.
The monsoon had ended that year just a week before and so there was plenty of water around. Little did I expect the spectacle that opened up before me.
The water bodies were brimming. The fields were lush green. There were a lot of birds. I was hooked already. It was an amazing sight.I checked out the two plots and was already asking about the cost. I had decided that this was the place to be.
What happened next confirmed my decision. I believe that was and is the most incredible experience that I have ever had in my life. If I had been a better person, i would have called it "divine" than just "incredible".
